The duo of Artist Named You and Sol Galeano present their debut together, a conceptual and adventurous modern R&B album. Bandcamp New & Notable Jul 26, 2022
When I first received this album on vinyl from my sister as a present I didn't really think much about it or even listen to it carefully. My youth group leader, Mark, later invited to one of Levi's shows, and I went. After that I realized, at least a bit what I was missing out on, but it really wasn't until that winter, after I began to contemplate my life, my choices, and sometimes even whether I wanted to live, that I began to listen to what was actually said in this album. Since then, and especially recently it has grown to be my favorite album in general, simultaneously growing my love for all of Levi's work. Culdesac colonies resonates with me a lot, and has since become my favorite piece, helping me to reflect back on the hopelessness i've felt in the past, and sometimes still feel today. This album is best listened to in 2 places, 1. In a cold basement, wrapped up under blankets, or 2. In a Kayak in a lake in the middle of fall, with an open notebook. Correspondence to me is both an experience of emotional story telling and an inspiration. Without correspondence I would not have been inspired to begin writing my own poetry, nor would I have through that found such a good way to reflect through those writings. Without this sad story, my world would be a much darker place. Nick West
